Welsh & Canadian watercolour Landscapes

I am a self taught artist working primarily in the medium of watercolour. I have been painting for about fifteen years, firstly in oils but more recently concentrating on watercolours. Living in South Wales, the local landscapes vary from beaches of the stunning Gower Peninsula, through the myriad steep wooded valleys with their streams and waterfalls, to the rugged uplands and peaks of the Brecon Beacons. The landscape is dotted with castles, standing stones, abbeys, Roman ruins, and not just the industrial heritage usually associated with the area.

I have also chosen to paint the landscapes of the Canadian Rockies and California. Having traveled through the Canadian National Parks from the desert of the Alberta Badlands to the glaciers of the Ice fields Parkway, the lakes and mountains have made a lifelong impression. Similarly, the Pacific coastline, the redwood forests, and the spectacular Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada have provided inspiration.
